Placechecks 2026/27

As we begin our placechecks journey, it is important to remember why we are doing this in the first place. Placecheck, as an activity, was put together to allow residents of an area to have a say in how their neighbourhood looks, feels, thrives, and grows. We want to do the same for our Carholme Ward.

As a resident of the Carholme Ward you can partake in 2 capacities with us:

1. Lead a placecheck walk: We are always looking for people to lead walks around the ward. You will be trained, given resources and then assigned a group to lead. It is important to do a walk as a follower first before leading a group.
2. Follow along for a walk: Simply come along with a signin for placecheck and the rest will be explained by a leader.

A bit of housekeeping!

1. Always wear appropriate footware and clothing depending on the weather.
2. A leader will carry basic first-aid but please bring your prescribed medication if required.
3. Carry enough water and SPF for about 2 hours of walking. There will be comfort breaks along the way.
4. We will ensure to the best of our abilities that all our routes are accessible but it may not always be possible.
